About the Speaker

Graduated from the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - Greece, in 2006. From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Sergis completed his postgraduate studies program of Prosthodontics of the University of Edinburgh - Scotland. During the same period, he trained at a polyclinic in United Kingdom where he specialized in fixed prosthesis and aesthetic dentistry. In 2010 he completed his master of science in Prosthodontics, acquiring the title of Master in Clinical Prosthodontics (MClinDent in Prosthodontics - EDIN). He has been working as a clinical instructor at the Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he contributes in the clinical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of prosthodontics and digital dentistry. Since 2011, Dr. Sergis established his private practice in Athens, oriented in clinical prosthodontics, implantology and digital dentistry. He completed his advanced training in Digital Dentistry at Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2015. He is the Key Opinion Leader for the TRIOS3-Shape intraoral scanner and for the application of digital protocols in prosthodontics and implants. Dr. Sergis has published international articles and journals and gives lectures pertaining the application of digital driven protocols in a variety of applications, like smile design and guided implant placement.

Michalis Papastamos

About the Speaker

In 1983, Michalis Papastamos graduated from the School for Dental Technicians KELESO, Athens, Greece. He worked as a dental technician in a number of prosthodontic labs in Athens (1983 - 1989). In 1989, he established the Dental Aesthetic lab in Athens, Greece, focusing in all-ceramics and implant restorations. In 2004, he trained at Dentaurum, France on the ceramic system CCS; and in 2006 he became the official trainer for the Dentaurum CCS ceramic system for the Greek market. Since 2016, Mr. Papastamos became the official trainer for Ivoclar Vivadent ceramic systems, and his lab became the official training center (ICDE) and pilot lab for Ivoclar Vivadent materials and equipment. He has published articles in local and international journals pertaining ceramic and implant restorations.
He gives lectures on traditional and digital restorations and trains dental professionals with hands-on and live cases courses at his lab or at other training centers.


Digital technologies are rapidly advancing over the recent years, covering several aspects of modern dentistry, from computer- navigated implant surgery to computer-aided design and manufacture of complex restorations. Digital tools enabling practitioners to achieve a prosthetically driven treatment planning, which are based on optimal esthetics, intended final restoration, available bone and the overall clinical situation. Utilization of these contemporary technologies is shown to have a positive effect on patients satisfaction, reduction of chairside and laboratory working time, and increased predictability of an intuitive step-by-step workflow while demonstrating high accuracy, esthetics outcomes and long-term success.
